Staying safe on random video chat
Random chat is fun because you never know who comes next. These simple habits — and the tools built into VideoChatStranger — help keep it that way.

Golden rules
Keep these in mind every time you chat:
- Never share your full name, address, phone number, school, workplace or social media handles.
- Be aware of what is visible behind you — letters, windows, uniforms and photos can reveal more than you think.
- Never send money, codes or personal documents to someone you met online.
- Assume the other person could be recording their screen, and only show what you would be comfortable with anyone seeing.
- If something feels off, press Next straight away.
What we do
Everyone must confirm they are 18 or older. Nudity, harassment, hate speech, spam and illegal content are forbidden by our terms.
The Report button disconnects you instantly. When several different people report the same user within 24 hours, that user is banned automatically — for a day the first time, a week the second time and a month after that. Moderators can also ban manually.
Your privacy
Audio and video travel directly between the two participants, encrypted with DTLS-SRTP; when a direct link is not possible they pass, still encrypted, through our relay server, which cannot see the content. We do not record calls or store chat messages. Details are in our privacy policy.
Reporting illegal content
If you see content involving minors or any other illegal activity, report the user in the app and contact the authorities in your country. We cooperate with law enforcement as required by law.
